Self Leadership + Team Leadership + Community Leadership

= social change in action

Spire runs workshops and programs designed to develop self, team and community leadership skills enabling participants to create positive social change. Spires programs are underpinned by the Social Change Model of Leadership development (SCM) which views leadership as a collaborative, values-based process that results in positive social change. For more information about the SCM click here.

Spire can run 1-hour, 2-hour, half-day, full-day workshops and full 20-hour programs which involves participants working on team  community-based projects to solve problems.

Please get in touch to discuss options.

An idea of a 1/2 day workshop could include the following:

Leadership For a Better World

Participants will gain a high-level understanding of the following:

  • Big picture look at community's current challenges

  • The importance of needing the right kind of leaders to tackle these problems

  • Learning about the Social Change Model of Leadership Development (examining self, team and community leadership qualities)

  • Examining examples of social change in action

  • Hands-on activities that challenge participants to explore the causes of complex challenges, and to brainstorm ways to bring about social change

  • Create an action plan

  • Participants will leave the workshop wanting to create change!

'This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognised by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature…that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live...Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is sort of a splendid torch which I have a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it over to future generations.'
